Hello All,

There are several items that were discussed in the recent BOF and are in
the scope of the charter that are not covered in the current drafts.
Matthew and myself would like to invite *all* participants to initiate
discussions/proposals on the mailing list on the following (in no
particular order):

1. Access Node Port and Functional Partitioning and multiple controllers
This is to deal with the partitioning of subscriber facing ports
on
the same AN among multiple ANCP controllers, with each
controller
either having a dedicated or functional control role.

2. Graceful restart
A mechanisms allowing an AN and a controller to gracefully
restart
from a temporary loss of adjacency without the need to exchange
information which went unaltered during the loss period. (There
is
already a section for this in the current draft which remains to
be
	completed.)

3. Light-weight transport protocol
A transport protocol that allows efficient and scalable
	transmission of ANCP information.

5. ANCP Protocol Security
Protocol security mechanisms including client and controller
	authentication.

6. Multicast control
Provide a mechanism to communicate the necessary information
exchange between the AN and NAS so as to allow the AN to
perform subscriber bound multicast group replication in
line with the subscriber's policy and configuration, and
also allow the NAS to follow each subscriber's multicast
	group membership.

7. ANCP MIBs
        ANCP protocol MIBs

Please let us know if you see other items which should be on this list.

Besides the above items, naturally upon the official formation of a WG
we will need to proceed on the cleaning up of the existing drafts into a
framework and protocol specification draft as per the WG charter.

Regards,
Woj.
