oh, dear.  I think I replied to the wrong Last Call message.   I have no 
objections whatsoever to deprecating 1DES and IDEA.

Let me go back and look and figure out which LC I was really concerned 
about, and reply to _that_ message.    Hopefully that reply will make 
more sense.

But you can safely disregard my message about this action.
