Actually I'm sure. We discussed XML vs. "STD 10 header style" in the last round, and also UTF-8 vs. NCRs. So far I haven't seen a compelling reason to change this. Folks who really want XML obviously can convert it. Converting it to a variant of CSV should be also trivial, ASCII offers 0x1C .. 0x1F separators if all else fails. Frank P.S:: Your lineend problem beats me, my two gawks (2.15pl5 and 3.0.6) don't care if it's Lf or CrLf.
