Dear WG members,

We just submit a draft to Multimob group discussing the optimization of IGMPv3/MLDv2 protocols in wireless and mobile network:

http://www.ietf.org/id/draft-wu-multimob-igmp-mld-tuning-00.txt

The intention is to tune wired IGMPv3/MLDv2 protocols to best fit the new network environment to benefit their deployment. It is our goal to make the protocols efficient and robust with minimun adjustment and to be interoperable with currently deployed IGMP/MLD.

And we hope some of these suggestions could also be used on wired network where effciency and robustness are required.

We welcome your comments and evaluation on it.

Thanks,
Liu Hui

A new version of I-D, draft-wu-multimob-igmp-mld-tuning-00.txt has been successfully submitted by Wenson Wu and posted to the IETF repository.

Filename: draft-wu-multimob-igmp-mld-tuning
Revision: 00
Title: Proposal for Tuning IGMPv3/MLDv2 Protocol Behavior in Wireless and Mobile networks
Creation_date: 2010-03-22
WG ID: Independent Submission
Number_of_pages: 11

Abstract:
This document proposes a variety of optimization approaches for tuning IGMPv3 and MLDv2 in wireless and mobile networks. It intends to provide useful guideline when deploy current IGMP/MLD protocols to support multicast listener mobility in wireless communication.
