This is missing the point that that’s exactly what’s happening. The multitopology draft is entirely optional, and experimental. I think it’s correct to consider this as an updates, but as noted, different people draw lines in different places, even ADs. It’s in their hands.

Ok, I will wait for the judgement call from WG AD. However, my advise is to not update our single topology standards with multitopology, and to leave it separate from multitopology standards.

That this updates OLSRv2 is inherent in the specification. If the draft didn’t make that explicit, that was an editorial oversight, nothing more. Whether it updates 7188 (and XXXX which is tlv-naming) is a matter of taste, we put that in in order that our AD can make a judgement call.

Did the WG agree to allow this draft to update 7181 and 7188? This new draft has added the update!!!

Abstract:
This specification describes an extension to the Optimized Link State
Routing Protocol version 2 (OLSRv2) to support multiple routing
topologies, while retaining interoperability with OLSRv2 routers that
   do not implement this extension.

This specification updates RFC 7181 by creating an interoperable
extension to it. This specification updates RFC 7188 and RFC XXXX by
modifying and extending TLV registries and descriptions.
