If I might  make a suggestion ...

It seems to me that if we liimit our statements to "I would never do this
(and, in the context of this workshop, I can tell you that the operator I
work for would never do this)", rather than "no operator would do this", we
may have a more productive conversation.

People may say "no one would ever do this" and be correct about that, but
we don't actually need to decide whether everyone on earth agrees, in order
to have most of the discussions we need to have.

Spencer, speaking as a humble member of the program committee, but only one
member ...
