Why not get it from the ue?

You realize this data will all change before you even receive it? So it would be no more than a historical record.

Also, there may be privacy concerns here.

Maybe i dont want you to know my location. Everytime the 49ers play at home, my congestion goes up, you may now infer my location.

The UE doesn’t make this available because the operator doesn’t. The chipsets don’t have support (AFAIK), and there are certainly no UE API’s for use.

The historical record is useful. It not being real-time isn’t a problem.

Many applications require GPS (location) privileges. It’s unclear to me why providing explicit congestion information is somehow worse. Again, this can be an explicit privilege based model.
