I don't really see the reason behind opposing 2.4.  If someone doesn't
want to develop this use case in the spec, someone else would, and
we've already got volunteers.  The protocol spec is a collaborative
work, isn't it?

The use case itself is totally useful and would certainly have an
impact on adoption, within corporate IT infrastructures as well as in
general.  The *protocol* MUST support it before it sees the light of
the day; the implementations, probably, SHOULD.
