The IESG has publication of the following Internet-Drafts as Proposed Standards: o Mapping between X.400 and RFC-822/MIME Message Bodies draft-ietf-mixer-bodymap-07.txt> o X.400 image body parts draft-ietf-mixer-images-01.txt> o A MIME body part for FAX draft-ietf-mixer-fax-01.txt> o MIXER (Mime Internet X.400 Enhanced Relay): Mapping between X.400 and RFC 822/MIME <draft-kille-mixer-rfc1327bis-05.txt> o Carrying PostScript in X.400 and MIME <draft-ietf-mixer-postscript-01.txt> The IESG also approved publication of A MIME body part for ODA <draft-ietf-mixer-oda-01.txt> as an Experimental Protocol. These documents are the product of the MIME - X.400 Gateway Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Keith Moore and Harald Alvestrand. Technical Summary MIXER (Mime Internet X.400 Enhanced Relay): Mapping between X.400 and RFC 822/MIME <draft-kille-mixer-rfc1327bis-04.txt> is an update to RFC 1327 which specifies mappings between RFC822/SMTP and X.400 mail. This update corrects several errors in RFC 1327, includes support for MIME as well as Internet standards-track delivery status notifications and SMTP extensions to request delivery reports, and defines a standard notation for representation of address mapping and routing information between X.400 and Internet mail. Mapping between X.400 and RFC-822/MIME Message Bodies <draft-ietf-mixer-bodymap-06.txt> describes mappings between MIME body parts and their X.400 equivalents (when available), and vice versa. X.400 image body parts <draft-ietf-mixer-images-01.txt> defines object identifiers which allow the representation of popular MIME image/* content-types as X.400(88) and later EXTERNALLY-DEFINED body parts. These allow conveyance of MIME image formats in X.400. A MIME body part for FAX <draft-ietf-mixer-fax-01.txt> specifies a MIME canonical form for representation of the X.400 'g3fax' content-type in MIME, and how to convert between the two representations. This allows transmission of X.400 g3fax body parts in MIME. Carrying PostScript in X.400 and MIME <draft-ietf-mixer-postscript-01.txt> defines two representations for PostScript documents in X.400(88). These allow gatewaying of Postscript documents between MIME and X.400 systems. Working Group Summary There has been a lengthy discussion in the working group, but little dissent on substantive issues. Protocol Quality Keith Moore reviewed the spec for IESG.
