Although for the most part I agree, at least I believe most servers will be
willing to give away clients.  I do believe there will be some market for
add and premium components although probably more for businesses than
typical consumer market.

If you are thinking anyone is going to pay for a client you are out of touch
with reality anyway. 
How much are you paying for IE or firefox? How is Netscape doing these days?

People pay for content and hosting. 
They pay for a connection to the internet. 
The days of paying for software to access the internet ended years ago lol.

Can we discontinue the money talk and stick to the protocol discussion?

It's great that you prefer this! To get a measurement (of a sample of one),
could you answer this question?

So the answer is zero dollars? That means that your preference is quite
weak, almost not measurable (economically speaking).
