Hi Tony,

Regarding the first question, there are two methods available for In-situ
OAM: (1) Passport-based, and (2) Postcard -based.

   1. The passport-based IOAM allows on-path *recording* where each transit
and/or endpoint node *records trace *data into the packets.
      1. IPPM WG has defined encodings for this method in RFC 9197, namely:

*                                                  i.      **Pre-allocated
Trace Option-Type (value 0)*

                                                ii. Incremental Trace
Option-Type (value 1)

                                              iii. Proof-of-Transit
Option-Type (value 2)

                                              iv. E2E Option-Type
(value 3)

   2. The postcard-based IOAM allows on-path *telemetry* where each transit
and/or endpoint node *exports telemetry *data.
      1. IPPM WG has defined encodings for this method in RFC 9326
      <https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc9326>, namely *Direct-Export
      option-type (value 4).*

Based on my understanding, two IOAM option-types, namely, *Pre-allocated
Trace (value 0)* and *Direct-Export (value 4) *are popular.

Like to implement these two IOAM option-types in MNA that will enable
passport-based and postcard-based methods in MPLS networks.

Thanks,

Rakesh
