Hi Bruno,

It's the ELC which is used to determine the POSSIBLE position of inserting the EL in the stack, meanwhile, it's the ERLC which is
used to determine the necessity of inserting an EL at any possible position of the EL except the deepest position.

[Bruno] I agree, but I don’t see any inconsistency between the above and my comment.
Note: “ERLC” is not defined in this document. I ‘m assuming that you mean :s/ERLC/ERLD (although :s/ERLC/ELC would equally be a single letter typo)

Hence, the OLD definition of the ERLC seems more straightforward, IMHO.

[Bruno] That’s not my opinion but I can surely live with both. As I had previously stated I clearly leave the choice to the editor. (“Please feel free to silently discard. »)
That been said, my comment was purely editorial and does not change the meaning (the proposed change was :s/ different depth/ different position in the label stack). Interestingly, in your above comment you also use the term “position”.

Best regards,
--Bruno

Best regards,
Xiaohu

What about the slightly modified wording:

"This capability, referred to as Entropy Readable Label Depth (ERLD) as
defined in <xref target="I-D.ietf-mpls-spring-entropy-label"/> may be
used by ingress LSRs determine the position of the EL in the stack, and
whether it's necessary to insert multiple ELs at different position in
the label stack."

done.
