Yeah, but I don't think that was it.

I wanna say I think it might have been 3LD wildcards to the webserver name,
actually, but I'm gonna have to hunt.  I can characterize it pretty cleanly,
though, as "DNS being configured to lie to querents to make one popular 
thing work at the expense of making other less common but important things
*impossible* (not just slow)".

On reflection, it might have been on the Linux Gazette mailing list, too;
another place I can check.
