Thanks a lot for the review and feedback. Correct, the aim of sequenceNumber in YANG notifications is to detect loss or reordering on messaging layer beyond the YANG-Push receiver (data collection).



I will add in the next revision in https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-ietf-nmop-yang-message-broker-integration-05#section-4.7 that and how a YANG consumer is able to do that. In particular I will describe the use case of message replication among message brokers.

Hi,

This is a follow-up on a question I had asked @ IETF120: "Depending on transport used (we are trying to do similar things for BFD), out of order might be incorrectly tagged as lost.".

The reason I asked that question is because the abstract mentions "This allows the collector to recognize loss, delay and reordering between the publisher and the downstream system storing the messages." and I had assumed that the collector mentioned is the "data collection" entity mentioned in section 4 of draft-ietf-nmop-yang-message-broker-integration. I'd suggest clarifying in the document that the determination of loss, out of order etc be done "not on reception" but later.

The reference to RFC3339 in section 3.3 should refer to RFC9187 instead?
