Hi Dylan, Hi Kent,

One of the fundamental parts of this draft is that the client is made aware of conflicts and makes an explicit choice on how to resolve them.  Both Rob and I have reviewed this one and have made this clearer in the -05 draft but we both disagree with the insertion of resolution-mode into commit.  Would you be so kind as to review the -05 version and let us have your feedback?

A imperfect solution would be that the client issue a <update> operation with the chosen <resolution-mode> right before the <commit>, but the running configuration could potentially be modified between the first <update> and the <operation>.

Should the update's <resolution-mode> be added to the <commit> too?

Makes sense to me.
For NETCONF, it can be augmented into the <rpc>.
For RESTCONF, how it maps can be specified.
