This draft is not going to be presented in the incoming NETCONF session, the document status is as follows.



This version resolves comments from Thomas (thanks Thomas for the review!), the main updates are following:

  1.  Augment the “ietf-notification-capabilities” defined in RFC9196 to enable a subscriber to discover adaptive subscription capabilities;
  2.  Tweak the sections and move YANG tree diagram inside the “Adaptive Subscription Data Model” section;
  3.  Add an implementation section;
  4.  Editorial updates as suggested by Thomas.



We believe this draft is close to WGLC, and would always welcome any further comments and suggestions from the WG. Thanks!

Abstract:



   This document defines a YANG data model and associated mechanism that

   enable adaptive subscription to YANG notifications.  The periodic

   update interval for the stream can be set adaptively.  Applying

   adaptive subscription allows publishers to adjust the subscription

   period dynamically based on pre-defined threshold for finer-grained

   network telemetry data sent to receivers.
