Dear NETCONF, The following iteration of UDP-Notif only has editorial changes. However, there was an open thread a few days ago: https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/netconf/UhhfbcY3BlSKP2JlniNzdU0M-Vw/ Here some comments of the current state of the draft: - The default port for UDP-notif has been removed following the comments from different contributors: - Med pointed me to rfc6335#section-7.2 and rfc7605#section-7 in https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/netconf/gP5AApWL0Ha8uey9yIQvBlqOJ7A/ - Christian Hopps pointed during the last IETF meeting that we do not need a default port since we are doing first contact - Thomas and Paolo pointed out that network telemetry protocols following current guidelines do not require a port. - A default port was not raised during the transport directorate review https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/review-ietf-netconf-udp-notif-11-tsvart-early-tuexen-2023-11-15/ - So far, the reflex of the authors is UDP-Notif does not have the requirements for a default port. In the meanwhile, I’ll ask tsv-art@ietf.org for an opinion. - Regarding the capabilities from a node to produce UDP-notif, Kent has a point. - Thomas, Qiufang, Qin and me are currently collaborating to support this in draft-netana-netconf-yp-transport-capabilities, we believe defining this capability by extending RFC 9196 is the best approach. There not remaining issues. Regards, Alex > On 17 Oct 2024, at 16:39, internet-drafts@ietf.org wrote: > > Internet-Draft draft-ietf-netconf-udp-notif-15.txt is now available.
