YANG modules for routing protocols and such like are appearing which
gives me these thoughts.

When interfaces is augmented for a protocol, should it be conditional
and if so on what? I raised this for MPLS and the response was that
they expected all boxes to be MPLS. (Well, may be in the default free
zone, but not for the vast mass of routers on the edge). AFAICT it does
no harm to be unconditional (is-is is another such).

Both the lsr protocols have a container for MPLS adding a traffic
engineering router id; this is conditional on a feature of the lsr
protocol but not on MPLS. Should this be conditional on MPLS and if so
how?

This router id is the same, I think, as TEAS has defined as
 typedef te-node-id {
    type yang:dotted-quad;
so we are getting intersections of lsr, TEAS, MPLS .....
