 [Mailing the Agenda to both lists - as some people have still not
 moved.  Other items will only be sent to nir@mailbase.ac.uk]


 There will be a Networked Information Retrieval WG meeting on
 Wednesday 31st March at the Ohio IETF (1:30-3:30pm).  This group has
 been putting together a report on the various "NIR Tools" such as
 WAIS, WWW, archie, gopher etc.

 Chairs: George Brett  CNIDR
         Jill Foster   RARE ISUS WG

 Agenda:

 1.   Approval of the Agenda

 2.   Updates from:

      o    Jane Smith on the Clearinghouse for Networked Information
           Discovery & Retrieval

      o    Jill Foster on the RARE ISUS WG NIR activities

 3.   Review of the draft Status Report on NIR tools and groups
      (version 3.0).
      - skeleton report: introduction, overview, appendices
      - main part of report:
        - tools  to be included/omitted
        - groups to be included/omitted
      - work required to turn this into an Internet Draft.

 4.   Review of templates in light of experience in completing them.

 5.   Schedule next revision.

 6.   Next stage: "Evaluation" of the various tools.

      - what are we trying to do?
      - checklist of features and capability
      - glossary/definition of terms
      - evaluation criteria
      - peer review process
      - volunteers
      - timescales

 7.   Identifying other tasks (need for documentation, training
      materials etc.)

 8.   Update goals and milestones in the light of current discussion.
