 Here is the NIR Group Template.  This has been substantially revised
 since the NIR BOF in Boston in the light of comments from members of
 the nir mailing list.

 Please let me have comments on this by Thursday 15th October.

 I will then ask for completed templates to be returned to me by
 Wednesday 21st October.

 NIR Group Template (ver. 3.0)

 Purpose and scope:

 This template is to be used to collect the information necessary to
 identify and track major groups that are working to promote or develop
 networked information retrieval.  It is intended that this will be
 completed by the group representative.  This information will be
 collected on a regular basis (at least every 3 to 6 months) and will
 form the basis of a "snapshot" report on the activities in the area of
 networked information retrieval (NIR).

 The groups included are defined by enumeration.  The IETF/RARE NIR-WG
 welcome suggestions for other groups to be included.  [An appendix of
 brief descriptions of smaller groups in this field may be added at a
 later date].
