The Network Management (nmrg) Research Group will hold
a multi-day interim meeting.

Session 1:
2019-10-03 14:30 to 18:00 Europe/Paris
Session 2:
2019-10-04 09:00 to 17:30 Europe/Paris

Meeting Location:
Roma, IT

Agenda:
NMRG is co-jointly organizing a special demo session on IBN at NoF conference
(https://web.uniroma1.it/nof2019/) October 3-4 in Rome.
Below is the the CFP. All accepted demo papers will be presented and published (2
pages in 2-columns IEEE format) in the conference proceedings (submission link:
https://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=25836)

In case you prefer to contribute more informally (without submitting a paper) to
share ideas, demonstrate some tools, describe on-going works... you are also very
welcome. Please let us know
(laurent.ciavaglia@nokia.com,walter.cerroni@unibo.it,jerome.francois@inria.fr).

Best regards,

Joint NMRG - NoF Demo Co-chairs

Special Joint NMRG - NoF Demo Session
                                 3-4 October 2019
                                   Rome, Italy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In cooperation with the organization committee of the 10th International
Conference on Network of the Future (NoF), the IRTF Network Management
Research Group (NMRG) invites authors to submit contributions to a demo
session in the area of Intent Based Networking (IBN), with an emphasis
on prototypes, practical experiences but also work-in-progress towards
designing and implementing IBN enablers and solutions. Intents define
the operation objectives of networks without actually defining what
operations to perform to reach them. This particular session aims at
providing a venue for researchers, professionals and students to discuss
their work, share their experience and stimulate collaborations. In
particular, it aims at consolidating the research community of IBN and
also promoting (pre-)standardization opportunities through the NMRG,
which is currently defining a roadmap for IBN where all contributions
and proposals are welcome to refine it. All accepted papers will be
published in NoF conference proceedings.

Below is a non-exhaustive list of topics
     • Intent expression, models and grammars
     • Functional architectures for Intents
     • Intent interpretation and translation into operational functions
     • Life-cycle management of intents
     • Interoperability
     • Machine learning and artificial intelligence for Intents
     • Monitoring and verification of Intent realization
     • Applications for specific use cases or environments
     • Simulation/emulation environments
     • Intent validation/normalization

This joint NMRG-NoF session will be colocated with NoF at the
Engineering Faculty campus of the University of Rome La Sapienza, one of
the oldest universities in the world, founded by Pope Boniface VIII in 1303.
