Dear all,

Given the wide and increasing use of crowdsourced measurements within the networking community, we wanted to share with you a recent white paper we have prepared on this topic, targeting the “crowdsourcing of network measurements” and the “crowdsourcing of QoE measurements”.

“White Paper on Crowdsourced Network and QoE Measurements – Definitions, Use Cases and Challenges” (2020). Tobias Hoßfeld and Stefan Wunderer, eds., Würzburg, Germany, March 2020.
https://doi.org/10.25972/OPUS-20232

The document provides scientific definitions for the specifics of crowdsourcing in the context of network measurements, describing relevant use cases for such crowdsourced data, and its underlying challenges.

The white paper is the outcome of a recent seminar on “Crowdsourced Network and QoE Measurements”, which gathered international experts from industry and academia (*), having different backgrounds in crowdsourcing, mobile networks, network measurements, network performance, Quality of Service (QoS), and Quality of Experience (QoE).

We think and hope this would be a useful source for those working on (crowdsourced) network measurements, thus decided to advertise it here.

We would appreciate any feedback or comments you might have on the contents of the paper.

Best regards,

Pedro, on behalf of all the (*) co-authors of the white paper:
