How much of the IMAP mailbox semantics carry over to these temporary SEARCH newsgroups? What about user properties such as SEEN, DRAFT, ANSWERED - does that exist in only IMAP or both stores? It seems a simpler approach would be to carry over a simplified IMAP SEARCH to NNTP - minus search criteria involving per user properties, and then build from there - rather than adding rich SEARCH to NNTP and re-writing IMAP SEARCH.
