A *great* deal of time and energy has already been spent, fruitfully or
otherwise, on various other IETF mailing lists litigating exactly this
point. Now that the IESG has issued its statement and NISTIR 8366
represents policy, I would much prefer to just gain the necessary
clarifications and then adhere to them in good faith, than to invest
further energy into futile relitigation of what has already been decided.
