thank you for your kind words and suggested text. Would the following
update to the first paragraph of the Appendix accurately capture your idea:
OLD TEXT:
   Several other options of OAM encapsulation were considered.  Those
   are listed in the Appendix solely for the informational purpose.
NEW TEXT:
   Several other options for OAM encapsulation were considered.  Those
   are listed in the Appendix solely for informational purposes.  These
   options were discarded in favor of the approach described in the main
   body of this document.
