A pronounceable acronym can be quite nice.

My own suspicion is that one based on being humorous, ironic, or otherwise 
clever, probably isn't, if the effort is to be taken seriously.  The fun 
component resonates initially, but then grows stale on constant repetition (over 
the years.)
