> The current thought: > > 1. Supplier-capable: > 2. Interactive consumer: > 3. Global email: I like the distinction between supplier-capable and interactive consumer. Would "publishing-capable" be a better term for "supplier-capable"? Off topic digression: It seems that the current price competition by ISPs is focused on "interactive consumer" access only. Switched technologies like basic rate ISDN are beginning to be well supported by ISPs for interactive access customers. I would really like to see some sort of scheme to permit low volume suppliers/publishers to provide services to the Internet at lower costs. Is there some reason ISPs can't provide customers with "supplier capable" access using switched technologies like basic rate ISDN? On demand PPP connections set up over ISDN should have tolerable connection delays, and at first blush seems technically straightforward to configure. Clearly there is a cost issue for the ISP to recoup for originating a measured call. Anybody out there have any ideas about how to set up such a service? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Don Jackson Clark Communications =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
