I have a copy of the final draft of the 1993 version, which lists about 16 
object classes and about 62 attribute types. The 1988 version lists 16 
object classes and 40 attribute types.

Given the number of new attribute types being defined by X.500 users,
I do not think that this is a considerable increase over the 1988 version.
It seems that the standards committee worked on adding extra services
to the standard, rather than to add extra attribute types and object classes.
