Due to popular demand, this service is being withdrawn :-)

Well what can I say! :-)

Since I think that probing is useful as long as probes provide useful
information on availability of the data (not the DSAs) I suggest that
if people are interested we develop a specification for such a service
and then see if someone is willing to code something up to support
it. I will be out of contact for the next week as I make my way home
from the IETF but I would be willing to discuss this on my return.

One requirement I would like to place on the service is that the data
is probed from a number of locations across the global so it is less
biased to the European view.

I suggest that we add this as a work item to the IETF IDS working
group.

Mark.
