  Tasks and Issues

1. Investigate Non white pages usage of the Directory; Specifically
   define a mechanism for representing IP addressing information in the DIT

2. Describe X.500 test strategies; Specifically define metrics for measuring
   and comparing DSA and DUA performance.

3. Improve Service activity of the Directory for organisations and users;
   Specifically define procedures for schema management. This task requires
   close coordination with the IETF IDS WG. Investigate possible
   improvements for efficiency and performance (e.g. LDAP).

4. Provide guidelines on technical implementation issues regarding
   the X.500 Directory Service; Describe issues involved in upgrading to
   1993 standard. Provide guidelines for X.500 and Database coupling.

5. Define mechanisms for application usage of X.500. Specifically define a
   mechanism for usage of X.500 for PEM and other security acvtivities

Note that the above charter is based on what the WG members have indicated
as important issues at the Washington DC meeting. The charter is only
reasonable if people are willing to do the work mentioned herein.
With that in mind, please review this.
