I have submitted revised versions of these as Internet Drafts.   

The UFN document is minor editorial update (comments received).

The String Representation document has a number of minor editorial,
technical and BNF fixes.   

I believe that this is all very uncontraversial.  Assuming that there
is no major comment,  I plan to sort progression of these documents in
discussion with the area director.
