I've just updated OSI-DS 40 in the archive. This describes a way of
representing FTP file and document information in the directory. Major
changes since last time include a number of schema mods, and the
allocation of some OIDs.

These files are

//cs.ucl.ac.uk/osi-ds/osi-ds-40-03.txt
//cs.ucl.ac.uk/osi-ds/osi-ds-40-03.ps

There is also some data available in the directory conforming to this schema.
You can find it if you start hunting under, amongst other places,

  cn=GB Research Papers, c=GB.

To help you access this stuff from a Quipu DUA, there are some oidtable
extensions in:

//cs.ucl.ac.uk/dirpilot/abduxoids.tar.Z

Of course, there's a catch. We've found that search operations which
include object identifiers not known to intermediate DSAs do not work.
Since it is quite likely that a search issued from your site will pass
through other DSAs, this is a bit of a problem.

One short term solution is to make use of an interface to the data which is
available by telnet. Try telnet to

  blu.brunel.ac.uk

and login as blu. Have a hunt under RESEARCH NOTES. You will find it
contains (slightly out-of-date) entries for the OSI-DS notes, plus a few
other small collections of stuff.

The machine running this DUA is a bit short of steam so please don't expect
too much. Also, the DUA is still being worked on to make it more
user-friendly. I hope something is better than nothing though.

Comments to myself and to x500@brunel.ac.uk
