Greetings, Over the last few months UCL have been attempting to reach an agreement with the COSINE Project Management Unit to make the software developed under the COSINE PARADISE project freely available via anonymous ftp. This software comprises the latest releases of DE, IDM and BLT (the Bulk Load Tools). One of the aims of these deliberations is to avoid having to subject users of this software to licence agreements. Our motivation in this is driven by a desire to see this technology distributed as widely as possible and we fear that any form of licensing will inevitably discourage take-up of the software. As UCL have so far failed to reach agreement in their negotiations with the CPMU, the decision to release the software will be postponed for a further week until 17 May. David Goodman Paul Barker
