Hi,
I'm looking to do some work on the restaurant/hotel classes and adding some in the form of products and services.

My background is that I'm part of Systems Systems Synthesis Ltd, who are currently working on an experimental project to give X500 access to small businesses from various regions of Europe. So far we are working with Grampian, Galicia and the Cap of North Holland.

However, for my purposes, there are some deficiencies in the X500 schema - some of which I've rectified on a local basis, but I'd like to make it more general, esp. wrt Hotels, Restaurants, Products and Services.

The first two aren't too bad, but there could be modifications to the basic schema which could make it more flexible. For example, there are no "method-of-payment" attributes. Credit card is just one method - what about cash or cheque? And how about ratings given by tourist boards? My major quibble with them is that they could be subclasses of organizations - the restaurants/hotels I'm working with will certainly have most of the attributes required by a small/medium organization.

For products, I've a schema from Mahoney from Trinity College Dublin. He based it on EDI concepts.

As for services, the field is wide open - there are no standards, but I've invented a class.

I'd really like to facillitate this fairly fast - I'm putting stuff into DSAs even as we speak. But I'm not sure how to proceed. Should I invent my version of the Hotel ASN.1? Is ASN.1 required for the product/service classes? If anayone wants, I could email them the attributes/oc for the products services.

Cheers,

Roger.
