Ken,

Your warning is well taken, and I agree that it is something we need to
watch. However to broadly focussed and big WGs have shown not to be working,
so we might as well try the other approach.

Christian has pointed out that I misused the word architecture, as a WG
cannot work on architecture, that would in itself be too broad again, we
will have to discuss at the Pages BOF (monday first WG slot in Seattle) how
we can best divide the work, in a way that is usefull to:
- The Internet Directory service (I mean the generic meta-service)
- Whois++
- Internet X.500
- Other protocols

Joan is chairing this BOF, and I would appreciate it if you have some
preliminary discussion with her on your worries, so she can make sure the
BOF tries to deal with that.
