OSPF MANET is has its own interface type (or should I say types since we have multiple experimental RFCs). They are all closer to P2MP than NBMA.

There is a lot machinery to support NBMA adjacency formation and polling. If we were ever to do OSPFv4, I think it would be on the table for deprecation.
