The IESG contact persons are Gunter Van de Velde, Jim Guichard and John Scudder. This document specifies the guidance provided to IANA to manage values associated with various fields within the protocol headers of the group management protocols. This document obsoletes RFC 3228. For example, was there controversy about particular points or were there decisions where the consensus was particularly rough?
