主题: Re: [pim] pim wg adoption call for draft-liu-pim-mofrr-tilfa-06.txt

I support WG adoption of this draft.

I think this procedure of using TI-LFA post computation backup path topology independently versus using LFA which is topology dependent makes the secondary path failover work in cases where the secondary path does not exist or due to costing is not used.

Question for authors?

Can this enhancement to MoFRR to use TI-LFA local protection for secondary UMH be applicable to MPLS as well?

[LYS] Yes, it can be applicable in both SR MPLS and SRv6 networks.

Also as TI-LFA local protection for MoFRR secondary UMH applicability to SR-MPLS data plane as well as SRv6, could there be a possible standards track draft in Spring for this new solution.

[LYS] The mechanism in the draft does not have new protocol extensions, but uses the existing PIM join attributes of type 0 and type 4 to carry the SR repair path of TILFA. I'm not sure whether it is appropriate to submit a standard track draft.

Kind Regards

Gyan

The draft draft-liu-pim-mofrr-tilfa-06.txt was presented at our last

This starts an adoption call to see if we indeed have the needed
support to adopt the draft. Please review and let us know by Friday
July 8th whether you support adoption or not.

Stig
