Subject: routing protocol for pip.....

The first draft of a routing protocol for use with Pip is
now available. It is called MLPV, for Multi-Level Path
Vector. As the name implies, it is path-vector technology
like BGP and IDRP. It borrows much from IDRP, such as
neighbor acquisition and reachability algorithms, but departs
in several ways. It handles various pip-isms, like
different structure of address. It accomodates certain
pip routing styles, like exit routing and tunneling. Also,
it is designed to run as separate instances of the algorithm
at each level of the hierarchy--thus taking advantage of
Pips separate encoding of hierarchy levels.

Anyway, it is available by anonymous ftp at:

It's being posted as an internet draft......

Thanks,
