I have now attended a total of 1 (one) IETF meeting, the one in DC
just completed.  I am very eager to learn as much as I can about the
workings of this august body, and contribute what I can.  In all
honesty, however, if by attending 2 IETFs I double the amount of
understanding, contacts, etc., I don't know that I could do a good job
on the nominating committee.  Of course, I realize that (a) the IETF
learning curve is probably not linear and (b) some of it is just
me--I'm not the most extroverted person in the IETF :^).  Nonetheless,
more direct participation may be in order.  Say, 3 IETFs with the
provision that one of them must be one where a nominating committee
has actually been at work.
