Hi folks:
I've been reading some of the e-mail reopening debate about the recall
process and other procedures with a bit of concern.
It seems to me that our mandate from the IETF was that the solution
proposed by Marshall and Lyman (with some small procedural features to be
fleshed in) was acceptable and should be adopted. People did not want to
revisit the poised work again in the spring.
If we do too much tinkering with the plan, we'll have to go back to the
IETF as a whole again to be sure we've got concensus on the modified plan.
Nobody I know would be pleased by that turn of affairs. We don't have a
mandate to develop or modify the plan, we have a mandate to finish
implementing a plan already agreed to.
As a result, it seems to me that unless NOBODY objects on the list,
we have to stick by the plan as presented a week ago. So, among other topics,
recall stays in (even if some folks, including me, don't like it).
Thanks!
Craig
