Stef,

I don't think my proposal treats symptoms.  I think poor communication
is the root of the problem.  If we solve the communication problem then
we've eliminated the painful surprises.  I just get a bad case of the
twitching awfuls when I see the amount of structure and formality that
some people are trying to impose.
