Dear all,

I am cc'ing the main qirg list also,

My name is Nicolas Fiumarelli, Networks Engineer at LACNIC. I am also
the Youth Coalition on Internet Governance coordinator for the LAC region.

From an internal Youth Call for Workshop proposals there is one session
called "Youth lenses on Quantum Internet" that arised from the process.

The aim of the session at the Global IGF in Ethiopia (panel format - 60
min) will be to introduce the concept of a quantum-internet (introducing
entanglement concepts with the participants) and explaining a little
about the main concepts of Quantum Internet (the initial drafts or
motivation idea: the work of the qirg wg at the IETF, and the
state-of-the-art of experiments regarding quantum teleportation (the
records from last month and so on).

Then, a 20 min conversation with the youth audience about the privacy of
the qnetwork, technologies used (fiber, laser), challenges regarding
maintaining the state of the particle, read/write, challenges about
regulation and privacy, the issue of the 3rd copy (possible man in the
middle in quantum network scenarios). The topic of QKD. What about the
necessary infrastructure and so on.

The date of the session will be around 28 Nov - 5 dic
(www.intgovforum.org) and the deadline for submission is next 10th of
June. You can be online or onsite speakers, depending if you will be at
Adis Abeba at that date.

Let me know if some of the qirg draft proposers/reviewers or experts in
the field of quantum comms want to be a speaker of the session. I
thought the best way was to contact directly to the mailing list.

I already have one speaker from Western Europe in ways of confirmation,
one from Latin America that is me, and then we have space for 1 to 3
more speakers. I think 2 from IETF is more than enough.

Attentive to your responses, vía the ML or PM. Hope to hear from you soon!

Best regards,

Nicolas Fiumarelli
