Careful, you stand to risk undermining some of your benefits.  The limit I'm more concerned about here is 64k, not 1232/1252.  The protocol doesn't prevent an endpoint from sending 64k packets (or greater if you accept the possibility that someone implemented RFC 2675, which I understand is unlikely).
