We have submitted a draft that defines a Status-Realm mechanism, offering “ping-like” and “traceroute-like” functionality for multi-hop RADIUS proxy fabrics. It also contains mechanism for the mitigation and prevention of proxy forwarding loops. The draft can be found here:

https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-cullen-radextra-status-realm/

We’d appreciate your feedback on the draft. At this point, we are more interested in high-level feedback than comments on the low-level details. Do you think it is a good idea to define mechanisms for these purposes? Do the mechanisms described in this document seem like the right general approach?

Please send minor corrections or editorial suggestions directly to the authors at draft-cullen-radextra-status-realm-00@ietf.org <mailto:draft-cullen-radextra-status-realm-00@ietf.org>.

Thank you in advance for your feedback!

Margaret
