Much rather, these were statements regarding past working group practice.

There are several RFCs overloading the Request-Authenticator for a
number of reasons.

By issuing those RFCs, the working group has repeatedly (either
implicitly or explicitly; feel free to browse the mail archive for
details) made the decision that this is not an issue.

It is also an easy observation that the sky has not fallen onto RADIUS
as a result of those decisions back then.

The sentences above are not an opinion; they are merely statements
reminding the working group participants of our collective past.

It is part of the "moderate discussions" job of a chair to point out
such things.

Greetings,

Stefan Winter
