Why is it so difficult to see this is also perfectly true 
on a slightly larger scale, for an untappable communication 
system?

  Wiretapping, even when it is not being exercised,
  therefore lowers the security of the system. 

The Internet is a subsystem of our community and the 
problem is that the community says the Internet in the 
current form lowers the security of the community in an 
unacceptable way.

There is no balance in the piece with the outside world 
that requires tapping. It may be well written but it is 
only saying what a small group of people wants to hear and 
knows already for years.

It's no solution.
