For example, the search pa= ttern "exam*" will match "example.com" and "example.net". The search patte= rn "exam*.com" will match "example.com". If an asterisk appears in a searc= h string, any label that contains the non-asterisk characters in sequence p= lus zero or more characters in sequence in place of the asterisk would matc= h. Additional pattern matching processing is beyond the scope of this speci= fication.
