Should the Tao be yet another definitive document on everything IETF, or should It be enough to convey the "sense" of the IETF? I am most definitively in the latter camp. I base this view on having given the newcomer's tutorial *MANY* times, been heavily involved with EMODIR and its predecessor for years, and having countless discussions with newcomers at various meet and greets, guides/mentors, etc.

I have copied Brian's comments into an issue which you can find at https://github.com/ietf/tao/issues/44
