Thank you for that confirmation, Sandy.

Someone mentioned that they thought that <br> had been deprecated in HTML5. I’ve found no evidence that WhatWG has done so. The “living spec” calls out <br>’s use as “Line break, e.g. in poem or postal address”. (<https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/indices.html#elements-3>)

Paul re-opened the issue in trac. I think the path is clear on what needs to be done. Can we call consensus?
